The history of Mission Mid-Del, Inc.

Mission Mid-Del, Inc. Video
Since 1993, the volunteers and staff of Mission Mid-Del have actively exhibited the scripture 1 John 3:17, which says: “If anyone has material possessions and sees his brother in need but has no pity on him, how can the love of God be in him? Dear Children, let us not love with words or tongue but with actions and in truth.”

This response to scripture led a group of Meadowood Baptist Church members to act when learning of families living in a nearby multi-housing community who desired religious and social services. This faithful group started Bible studies, provided food, clothing and household item to these families. Their actions resulted in the formation of Mission Mid-Del.

As the ministry grew, with assistance from Meadowood Baptist Church and area residents, supply storage facilities were donated so that the ministry could grow and reach additional people in need. Master’s Market was created out of Mission Mid-Del and became a scheduled food and clothing pantry to assist those residents in need.

As the organization grew, Alex Aaron was hired as a part-time minister to the nearby mobile home park in 1997 and became the Director of Mission Mid-Del in 2000.

In 1999, Mission Mid-Del became a 501c3 nonprofit organization. Prayers began for a building site or land to house the organization. Soon a couple heard of the need and donated approximately three acres on Reno Ave., between the YMCA and Anthony’s Appliance. Mission Mid-Del opened its new facility on July 28, 2006, and continues to serve thousands of residents in eastern Oklahoma County each year.

Testimonies
How God has used Mission Mid-Del in the lives of others:

This is a story a young man shared about how Master’s Market changed his life. The man needed something to eat. He shared that he was extremely intoxicated when he came to the market. He went to the back door of the building and asked for help. He was overwhelmed with the kindness that he was shown. He said that instead of being turned away or told to move on, he was treated with grace and kindness. He was given groceries. The way that he was treated made him cry.

A few weeks later he came back to the market and said that day changed his life. He has stopped drinking, and he is thankful to God and the ones who showed God’s love during his darkest moments. He said that he had a very rough past and had been drinking over 20 years but has been sober since that day. He is getting his life together. He feels so blessed to have his life back.
